Montpelier

Montpelier is James Madison's plantation.
Madison was the fourth president of the United States and is considered the Father of the Constitution.

Madison lived his entire life at Montpelier (except for when he was president).  His wife, Dolley Madison, also lived at the plantation.  She is considered the first "First Lady" and is well-known for saving a painting of George Washington by Gilbert Stuart when the White House was burned down during the war of 1812.

Shooting the plantation, which is located in Orange, VA, was really great.  The grounds are simply beautiful!

In addition to the mansion, gardens, and grounds, there is also a family graveyard on the property.  I've decided to divide the Montpelier sampling into two parts: the mansion/grounds (this post) and the graveyard (which I will post after this one).
