Pentagon 9/11 Memorial

Last weekend, I paid a visit to the 9/11 Memorial at the Pentagon.
It was a very somber, very humbling experience.  I'm grateful for the chance to photograph such a meaningful place.

Here's a few of my favorites.

Kirtland: trees, barns, fences, and streets

Well, it's Christmas day and I had a goal of being caught up on the portfolio by today ... didn't happen.  However, I am very close!

This post is from a visit I made to Kirtland, Ohio in October.
I have so many pictures from my Kirtland trip that they had to be divided into more than one post (see the first one here).  There should probably be one more Kirtland post after this.

This particular post is from my first day in Kirtland.
I know I should have probably narrowed the selections down since it is all pretty much trees, barns, fences, and streets, but I loved them so much it was hard to pick favorites!

Kirtland Temple

Towards the end of October, I went to Kirtland, Ohio.

Kirtland is another town that has significant early LDS history.  While I was there I visited several sites, one of which was the Kirtland temple.

When I got to the temple, I discovered there were scaffolds on it!  Every photographer's nightmare!
Since there was nothing I could do about it, I decided to try to work with the scaffolds instead of against them.  I actually really like the shots with them in it.

This is a big post, but it's hard to pick favorites.

Palmyra

In October, I made a trip to Palmyra, New York.

Palmyra is where the LDS church originated, plus it's really beautiful up there (especially during autumn).
I visited some church sites (Hill Cumorah, the Sacred Grove, the Palmyra temple, Smith family home, and more).  Here's a few of my favorite shots from Palmyra:
