Fort McHenry is located in Baltimore, Maryland. It is where Francis Scott Key wrote the poem that would become "The Star-Spangled Banner". The fort is quite simple, but is very beautiful.
The Parks Service has worked hard to maintain a lot of the original buildings and even has a flag pole with the American flag flying in the same spot it flew on that fateful night when Key wrote the infamous words.
