Chris & Sebastian

A friend of mine, Chris, from my work at the Holocaust Museum asked if I'd take some pictures of him and his son, Sebastian.  As you can see by the sheer number of pictures in this sampling, I think they turned out quite well!  It was so hard to pick which ones to post!

Sebastian is a really fun, spirited boy and I think a lot of his personality shows through in the pictures.  Chris mentioned that his preference for pictures is generally sepia, so you see a lot of that in the sampling.  I agree with him that sepia was a great choice for most of these pictures.  In case you are wondering, these pictures were taken at or around the Holocaust Museum.  I just love the different materials surrounding the place -- makes for great background.  Anyway, I think they turned out really fun.  Enjoy looking through them!

More Faces

My awesome coworkers did it again ... they let me take more pictures of them!

I think photographing the people I get to work with is up there with my favorite subject matter to ever photograph.  I work with people who have such interesting, diverse, and beautiful features that it really is such a pleasure to take their picture.  Plus, they are very willing to stand there and let me run around them to get just the right shot.

Here's some of my favorites of the latest I've taken of some coworkers.

Folklife Festival

I recently went to the Folklife Festival.  This festival happens every year and takes place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

It was so much fun to take pictures of such vibrant colors, interesting people, beautiful music, and everything that you think of (and maybe don't) when you think about a festival.

You may notice quite a few shots of Smithsonian carousel.  I took several shots of this for a friend who was specifically looking for pictures of carousels.

I absolutely loved shooting the Folklife Festival.  Can't wait to do it again next year!
