"Photo of the Day" winner for Arlington County Fair!

It's county fair time over in Arlington, Virginia!

I went to the county fair for one reason ... to take pictures!

After attending the fair, I entered a couple of pictures into the "Photo of the Day" contest Arlington County Fair was having and I won!
It's no Pulitzer Prize (I only won a t-shirt), but I'm proud of the accomplishment nonetheless.

I have a lot of county fair pictures to post, but I haven't had time to edit them all yet.  So, they'll be coming in a future post within the next couple of days.  For now, here's the award-winning shot.  I took it of the Revolutionary war time period band that performed in the opening ceremonies.

Falls Church Farmers Market

There are several really good farmers markets in the D.C. area.
One of my favorites is held in Falls Church, Virginia.

There's lots of good food, interesting people, and so many things to take pictures of!  Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the Falls Church farmers market.

Folklife Festival

I recently went to the Folklife Festival.  This festival happens every year and takes place on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

It was so much fun to take pictures of such vibrant colors, interesting people, beautiful music, and everything that you think of (and maybe don't) when you think about a festival.

You may notice quite a few shots of Smithsonian carousel.  I took several shots of this for a friend who was specifically looking for pictures of carousels.

I absolutely loved shooting the Folklife Festival.  Can't wait to do it again next year!
