I wanted to post quickly to say that a couple of days ago I shot my second concert with Matisyahu. This time in Washington, D.C.
Editing on these pictures is going to take me a while (and I'm talking days). There's a few reasons for this:
First, I have over 3,000 images to go through (think I took enough?), I'm currently backing up all of my picture files on my computer (and believe me when I say I have a lot of picture files on my computer!), I still have a few other posts I need to put up here from other things I've photographed lately, and I just have other work to do. Phew!
Anyway, I wanted to post two quick teaser shots (okay, three. The first two are the same, but I can't decide if I like it better in b&w or color!).
Oh, and I must mention that I had a great time! Love shooting him!

Annapolis
I recently paid a visit to Annapolis, Maryland.
Annapolis is about 30 miles outside of D.C. and has a lot of history.
It was one of the nation's first capitals (before D.C.), it's where the Naval Academy is, and it is the home of the State House of Maryland which has a very long and impressive history.
The State House is where George Washington resigned his command of the Continental Army, where Thomas Jefferson was made the first ambassador of the United States, and where the Treaty of Paris was ratified (thus ending the American Revolution).
Here's a sampling of Annapolis.

"Photo of the Day" winner for Arlington County Fair!
It's county fair time over in Arlington, Virginia!
I went to the county fair for one reason ... to take pictures!
After attending the fair, I entered a couple of pictures into the "Photo of the Day" contest Arlington County Fair was having and I won!
It's no Pulitzer Prize (I only won a t-shirt), but I'm proud of the accomplishment nonetheless.
I have a lot of county fair pictures to post, but I haven't had time to edit them all yet. So, they'll be coming in a future post within the next couple of days. For now, here's the award-winning shot. I took it of the Revolutionary war time period band that performed in the opening ceremonies.

Bridges
A few months back, I went to Amish Country. While I was there, I photographed a couple of bridges (Amish Country is full of them!). I've been meaning to do a post on them and I finally got around to it.
A lot of the shots are similar, but there isn't a ton of variation one can do with bridges. Plus, sometimes it is just so hard to pick favorites! In this case, there were some shots I loved both in color and in b&w/sepia, so I posted them all. I hope you enjoy them!

Friends
A couple of months ago, there was a poetry-themed* party at my home.
After the party, a few of my friends let me snap some very impromptu photos of them. The pictures are obviously not great (the door is the background!), but I think my friends proved to be very photogenic so I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.
*A poetry party is where everyone in attendance brings a poem they like or that they've written. During the party, everyone shares their poem with the group. There's also music, impromptu poetry writing, and poetry-themed party favors. Lots of fun!
